Welcome to cletusyouth.net version 1.0, St. Cletus Youth Ministry’s (SCYM) first ever, real live website. It was designed for you, the teen, to be able to access all kinds of information about SCYM and all that is going on around here. Feel free to skip the rest of this post and look around.

Still reading? Good. Let’s get back to the title and first line of this post. For me, personally, there are two ultimate finish lines for this site. The first, and the most important, is a site that is living and breathing, dynamically changing and filled with information and fun. The other goal is a website that is technically sound and graphically exquisite. If those two goals comprise the finish line, then we are, admittedly, two feet from the starting line on our hands and knees.

And that’s okay.

You see, when it comes to a lot of things in life, I’ve learned that which direction I’m facing and where I stepped from is often times more important than how far I’ve gone or where I am.

I think that’s definitely true in my spiritual life. I could be so close to the finish line spiritually, but what does that matter if I’m facing the starting line, and I’m moving in that direction? I find it much more rewarding when I’m right where this website is, barely past the start, but focused in on the goal.

And just like my spiritual life, this website cannot depend on one person alone. In order to make this the best possible tool it can be, and in order to make me the best possible person I can be, I need your help. I need you to feed me spiritually. I need you to challenge my faith. I need you to carry me sometimes. This website needs you to help fill it up, to dynamically change it, to help it grow.

With that help, and a lot of learning on both of our parts, the website will be the least important thing that grows.
